I was a college student trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I had interests and skills but lacked a passion and purpose. With no clear sense of true direction, I chose a major that seemed exciting and had the potential promise of becoming a career: Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, and Events Management. The decision to select a seemingly over-complicated and scattered major was intentional; in fact, it was one of the factors that drew me to this particular degree. I enjoy change, diversity, adventure, and a healthy amount of organized chaos, and I never shy away from a challenge. This choice of formal education, combined with the experience of planning my own wedding, catapulted me into the journey of discovering my passion and purpose in wedding and event planning.
I am a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who also loves stretching the legs of my right brain. What I lack in artistic ability, I make up for with my design aesthetic. I make spreadsheets for fun and write lists in my sleep, but I also love creating beautiful settings and meeting new people. Wedding and event planning has allowed me to combine all my strengths into one career that I love and am truly passionate about. Not everyone can say they have fun at their job, and I'm so thankful that I am able to do so.
After earning my degree, I proceeded to casually plan weddings and parties for friends and family members as a hobby while I continued to work in professional corporate settings. I also enrolled in the wedding planning certification course through the Association of Bridal Consultants to become a registered planner within their network and increase my knowledge of the industry. After so much positive feedback from the events I had been planning, it became clear to me that this calling of mine deserved to be more than just a hobby, and Alexis Lauren Events was born.
I feel truly honored to be considered for the responsibility that is bringing a wedding vision to life. The happiness of the couple is my number one priority throughout every stage of the planning process, and I will ensure your wedding day is as perfect as you have always envisioned. Having a team of vendors you can trust and rely on is so important for any event, especially for this occasion. You should be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy your engagement and the big day. My goal is to help bring your dreams to fruition and create an amazing, unforgettable celebration that will be forever preserved in the memories of you and your guests.
While I do have a particular soft spot for destination wedding and honeymoon planning thanks to that wordy mouthful of a degree I mentioned previously, I love planning events of all kinds. I welcome and look forward to the opportunity to plan weddings for couples of all different backgrounds. Whether your wedding is big or small, near or far, every couple can benefit from the support system and professional network provided by an experienced wedding planner.
Not getting married? No problem! I can help you plan any event coming up in your life or your business. Some non-wedding occasions you may wish to consider hiring a planner for are: baby or bridal showers, quinceañera or bar/bat mitzvah, milestone wedding anniversary or birthday celebration, corporate event or retreat, or even a honeymoon.
All weddings and events are entitled to a complimentary consultation to determine if working with Alexis Lauren Events is the right choice for you. The consultation also allows us to create a custom planning package to fit your budget and needs. Of course, I am always happy to plan a destination event at a location of your choosing.
